  • Small leaves, fine twigs, and tendency to flower profusely. It thrives in well-drained soil, can be grown in full sun to part shade, and is a vigorous plant that responds well to pruning for shaping.

  • Responds well to pruning, with winter being the ideal time to shape the tree as it blooms on old wood.

  • Produces masses of fragrant, white, bell-shaped flowers in spring.

  • Ramifies well: It forms dense, fine branching.

  • Vigorous growth: It is a tough and vigorous species, making it forgiving for training.

  • It does not tolerate heat or drought very well.
