Redwood Stump, #26XX 🔧
June 7, 2026
This was the remnant of a collected Coast Redwood, flattening the base to prepare for a proper bonsai pot. Very shallow slab, where shoots emerged around a part of the perimeter. Left as a slab, a story of redwood rings (like a clump) resilient after a chop.
Started this year by coring out some holes with a drill, followed by a Kutzall course carving bit to rough out the hollowed stump.
I will fertilize and give it sun & water. In the hopes that the shoots will harden off and fatten. I can select and prune for spacing.
