Passed to me from Val M. Good base but too much work as a Bunjin to improve or proposed to graft scions low on the trunk for a future Shohin. “Exposed Roots.”
Proposed to thin needles to 4 sets/growth ring to encourage back budding and new branches. Allowed in open sun, reduce watering, gentle on fertilization until buds emerge.

Some styling to lose one branch and raise and arch over.
May add structural wiring for twists and styling apex lower for this Bunjin.
