Adam Toth JBP Demo

BABA demonstration

  • Glueing wire to a stone—I stress of 2-part epoxy, in Japan they use facial tissue (Kleenex) and superglue.

  • Superglue on tissue paper fuses wire down, acting like putty.

  • The thinner the CA glue the better.

  • Wrap a single layer around the wire, place in down and apply glue.

  • Can use cotton or baking soda in place of facial tissue.

  • Places 1:1:1 soil under to help stabilize.

  • Applies muck afterwards.

  • Adds soil and gently chopstick, it may knock off the muck walls.

  • Leave it for a year to recover and build roots—will hold off any styling or decandling.

  • Cover with sphagnum moss.

  • Finally covered with normal green moss. Avoids fluffy moss. Pins some sheets down with “U” wires against the slope or sides.

  • Signs when repotting is needed—if it looks weak. Likely once every 10 yrs.
