Collecting Coast Redwoods

May 24, 2026—visiting Grace’s property to collect redwoods with Gio. Mostly under PG&E clear-cut area under the power lines. Chopped low and a late round base, with fresh foliage on top.

Inverted root-bases and planted in drainage mix, that may be Mame or larger.

Also collected accent plants: lots of smaller flowers with long neck growth, looking for moderate to smaller leaves

Collected tree lichen (on branches or bark)—suggested to crumple & rub on old bark for bonsai—can propagate on the tree to give age, character and color. Also collected som smaller round leaf ground cover, found clinging to the earth walls that were roadside.
