⭐️ Chinese Quince, 26XX Shohin
SBBK show sale. Noted repotted 2025.
Said to be crabapple or flowering quince.
June 2026, as acquired
Flowering Chinese quince (Pseudocydonia sinensis) or Japanese flowering quince (Chaenomeles) requires full sun, excellent airflow, and consistently moist soil.
To ensure abundant spring blooms and vibrant exfoliating bark, place it outdoors year-round, protect the roots from harsh winter frosts, and prune immediately after the flowering season concludes.
Post-Bloom Cutback: Trim back new lateral shoots by at least 4 inches to maintain a tight dome or conical shape and to improve branching.
