🍑 Indian Plum, #2512

Burbank (neighbor) $5. Very little rooting on a large mallet hardwood cutting. Terrible soil. Repotted in a colander with pumice and aggregate, at an angle. Desire for the lower end of the mallet to grow roots—future can clean up to flatten the base—can Jin the upper end of the mallet.

Very straight branches, small leaves, long internodes, and long thorns.

Let it grow out and develop roots, then cut back hard and start new branches.

Oemleria cerasiformis, commonly known as Indian plum or osoberry. This deciduous shrub or small tree is native to the Pacific Northwest.
