75 Work Days Left
But who is counting, eh?
Recently completed a project milestone well and closing that chapter. Also was surprised to be recognized in a group for a Presidential Award, recognized for leading a huge China submission hurdle with its approval. Work is supportive, if not feeling my absence to be a challenge or me being missed.
Ever more confident with our finances for early retirement, despite uncertainty we have buffer upon buffer. We are blessed.
Ruth is considering options for a job change, to best use her skills and eliminate her long commute each day. We need to focus on our health and well being. I shared our financial stability for her to take time off or no risk of making changes.
Setting up volunteer plans at the Lake Merritt Bonsai Garden (Tues) and with the Pacific Bonsai Expo.
Sharing some great live musical concerts with the kids and sending P* off to her sophomore year at college. Happy that she and E* are doing well this new school year.
I need to engage in guitar practice and playโneed to seek out some musical community.
Politics and climate are a real mess, the government and the populace are asleep or eating lotus and letting our culture, democracy, and protections to be pilfered in broad daylight. Fearful and hopeful for a change, and visions of The Walking Dead giving me cold sweats. Even my wife concedes that we should take first-aid training and survivalist training to prepare for the worst. Either too much cable TV or just the damn news.
Better days to come.
