Wiring a juniper with copper wire.

  • Spiral wind wire at 60 degrees, 45 min, more open and easier to wire and bend.

  • Practicing selection of wire size for similar size branches.

  • Seat the shoulder of the wire well and have enough length to wire the branches.

  • Remove small foliage that are not woody branches.

  • Eliminate or gin, a lower bar branch.

  • He creative, all branches do not need to angle downwards. Some can bend down or up at extreme angles to fill spaces.

  • Wire pads at the end of one branch, secondary enter branches can be joined into a pad, but do not join pads from another primary branch.

  • For Junipers remove lower/downward, foliage or branches.

  • Can thin out foliage.

  • Let this grow out a year and then sell it. It’s not ideal general material, but good practice for wiring.

Repotting

  • Anything in early development, can repot almost anytime. Up-pot or putting into a colander.

  • Deciduous in January is okay.

  • But our more refined and older trees should wait until later in spring.
